The Solution: Three Veterinary Formulas in Aseptic Packaging
Several years ago, an entrepreneur with a new company and a big idea approached Flavorman. He recognized a significant business opportunity: to develop nutritional formulas for the fast-growing veterinary market.
At first, the client developed a rehydration formula -- much like a sports drink -- and distributed it in grocery and pet stores. As the company matured and with Flavorman’s counsel, it soon recognized that there was an even better business opportunity in more sophisticated pet products distributed through veterinarians.
Flavorman helped the company develop three enhanced products, and advised them to use ready-to-use aseptic (Tetra Pak®) packaging:
- A chicken-flavored oral electrolyte solution, which prevents dehydration and replaces vital fluids, electrolytes and amino acids
- A salmon milk-flavored feline liquid diet, a lactose-free formula which provides nutritional support for recovering cats
- A beef-flavored small animal liquid diet with concentrated nutrients, balanced energy sources, vitamins and amino acids
Initially, Flavorman savored the opportunity to be creative with this new and unusual project. In the end, however, we took great pride in advancing the company’s growth and value (evidenced by the sale of the company) with unique products, packaging, sourcing relationships and distribution.
